The situation: NYC Marathon United Airlines stage in Greenpoint (Brooklyn) on Sunday. The down side: Bass player out of town and unhappy to be missing this. Sub had to cancel as well. We'll put up a cardboard pic of our bass player and do this Black Keys style if we must, but real live bass keeps our drummer happy. Your mission, should you decide to accept it: Learn 30-something songs by Sunday, NO covers all our own songs, easy peasy pop/alt rock. Will provide links to music and lead sheets. The up sides: Perform in front of thousands of runners and get them pumped up, some look for us every year. Weather looks great. Potential for future missions when bass is out of town. Compensation: We're playing this gratis but we'll take care of you for your trouble.
