Tree Shepherds is hiring! We are looking for an experienced tree climber with at least 2 years of experience climbing and pruning trees. You will always have work as we stay busy year-round. We are a family-owned company and have been in business 13 years. There are currently 5 certified arborists and 1 Master arborist employed at Tree Shepherds. (We have a lift for difficult climbs, skid steer for heavy logs and brush cleanup, dump trailer to dump said heavy logs, heavy duty chippers to grind through brush easily, etc.) Responsibilities and duties of a tree climber: - Climb and prune trees according to the Tree Shepherds standard - Show up on time - Proper care and use of equipment - Safety Conscious - Understand climbing systems (SRT for example) - Ability to safely remove moderately sized trees - Willing to drag brush when needed - We are not looking for a crew leader at this time, although the potential to grow into that position will become available. - And more! Starting compensation is dependent upon skills, experience, education, and character. Realistic pay range is $21 - $25/hr depending on experience. Responsibilities and duties of a ground person: - Prune and remove trees and and haul off the material - Operate equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, etc. - Show up on time - Listen to your crew mates - Willing to learn - If you stick with it (and most of our employees do) in 3 years you can have an arborist certification and be making $25 - $30/hr. Starting compensation for the ground person position is dependent upon experience, education, and character. Range of $12 - 15/hr.
