No on Measure 114!

Voters may not understand 114. Currently, you need a background Check to purchase a Firearm today. If you purchase a Firearm, it is registered to the buyer and the buyer has responsibility and liability regarding use and whose hands it might end up in - if irresponsible. Having the State Police sign-off and maintain a gun owner database is ludicrous. The Police already said they don't have the staff or want to run a database. Currently, for Concealed Carry, you need to go to Firearm Safety Training which covers the many laws and responsibilities of carrying. Then with the Certificate from the classes, you have to meet with the Police in your County. Currently, the wait is until the end of the year and getting worse. They are inundated with applicants due to the fear of losing their 2nd Amendment rights. We know a lot because we have 2 good friends that are Police Officers, one is County and the other is State. Both of then stated to us "You would be ignorant if you don't register and carry with all the crazies now". They both told us that the issue with Firearm assaults are from People with Mental Illness. The person that commits a crime buys or steals a gun from an outside source and does bad things. Measure 114 will have no effect on safety except to make a lot more paperwork for a Department that shouldn't even be involved.
