Description

Join us November 5th, 2022 from 12pm to 5 pm. Our official yarn cutting ceremony will be at 1pm. Help us celebrate the grand opening of Tidewater Creations. Tidewater Creations, LLC Waldport, Oregon Tidewater Creations was born out of Randi’s love of natural fibers, Mark’s passion for woodcraft, and both of their interests in rocks and minerals. Our store showcases high quality hand-dyed yarns by Twisted Tidewater. We also stock name brand yarns by HiKoo, Schoppel-Woolle, and Popcycle. We also feature Oregon based yarns from Euchre Creek Farms in Siletz and Imperial Yarns located in Terrebonne, Oregon. Our goal is to procure yarns that fit every project and every budget. Tidewater Creations also stocks natural fibers for spinning, felting, rug hooking, weaving and more. We are delighted to carry locally sourced roving from Euchre Creek Farm as well as Bellwether Wool Company, who are located between Philomath and Corvallis. We aren’t just a yarn store though; we also carry high quality quilting fabrics from Wilmington Prints. While our current collection is limited to an ocean themed collection, we will procure more varieties of quilting fabrics as our business grows. New Old Stock fabrics are also kept in stock. We feature a wide variety of vintage and more recently milled fabrics that are no longer stocked elsewhere. Tidewater Creations features Mark’s woodcraft. He handcrafts cutting boards, charcuterie boards, cooking utensils, chop sticks, card holders, turned bowls, turned mushrooms, buttons and more. He sources locally milled hard woods as well as procures exotic woods for his finely crafted woodwork. Finally, we have minerals and semiprecious stones, many of which were collected by Mark and his parents, Phil and Pat. Rockhounding was a family pastime for Mark. Our space was designed to share with our community and visitors to the coast as a place to play with fibers, learn new crafty skills, gain creative inspiration, share finished projects, get help with your works in progress, and socialize. We have a main table that seats up to six, plenty of market tables, extra chairs, and a cozy lounge area. If our open sign is on, then bring in your project to work on. Bring a friend too! We will have regularly scheduled fiber arts classes, fiber nights, and paint nights. If there is a technique you want to learn, then we will find someone to teach it. There is an amazing network of folks in our area ready to teach fiber arts. November 5th is a very special day for Randi as it is her grandmother’s birthday. Randi's grandmother Amy would have been a 101 years old this year. When Randi was young, Amy taught her to sew and crochet at the family dining room table. The dining room table was the social centerpiece of Amy’s home in Hermiston, Oregon. A dining room table is the social centerpiece of our store. Come sit, stitch and chat at our table.
