Skoda Contracting is looking to hire a Junior Mechanic for our Fords, NJ. Location. We are looking for a motivated individual to be part of our team! This is a full time Monday to Friday 7am-3:30pm position. RATE: $24-$29 hr. DOE. This is a long-term position and an excellent opportunity to have a steady career! His/her responsibilities include but are not limited to performing repairs and preventative maintenance on a fleet of 30+ vehicles and pieces of construction equipment. Duties/Responsibilities: • Maintains the company’s fleet of vehicles, trucks, heavy equipment (backhoes, excavators, and dump trucks), and other motor vehicles. • Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups. • Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment. • Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts. • Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements: • 3 years of Mechanic experience working on vehicles, backhoes, excavators, small engines, and dump trucks OR Vocational, Technical school or Apprenticeship in Diesel Automotive Program along with two years of related work experience. • Valid Driver's License • Must have his/ her own basic tools.
