HELLO! PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU REGISTER! REUNION SESSION:TAKE TWO! Please take a moment to read the below information thoroughly BEFORE you register. WHO ALL LEVELS of veteran DSC (or Derby Lite) & MRD skaters - no matter how long ago you skated with us. All skill levels, all fitness levels! WHAT Derby Skate Club Reunion Session! #2! An easy, fun, no-pressure opportunity for us to come together and skate. This session will help to determine our next steps regarding class offerings. 5:15 pm ARRIVE, GEAR UP5:30-6 pm OPEN SKATE6 pm ANNOUNCEMENTS/SAY HI!6-7:15 pm A MIX of open skate, OPTIONAL drills for all skill levels sprinkled in, roller dancers in the center of floor7:15-7:30 pm GUIDED GROUP STRETCH, remove gearWILL THERE BE SKILLS LESSONS DURING THIS SESSION? No. There will be no lessons or teaching in this session (which is why it is only open to veteran skaters, for safety sake). WHERE Happy Wheels Skate Center, 3 Chabot Street, Westbrook ME WHEN Thursday evenings beginning 11/10/22 (6 class session - no class on Thanksgiving) 5:30-7:30 pm $120 WHAT GEAR IS REQUIRED FOR THIS SESSION? Anyone planning to participate in Derby Skate Club (roller derby inspired) drills will be required to wear full gear (listed below). If you don’t plan to participate in any drills, the gear you wear is up to you! QUAD SPEED (ROLLER DERBY) ROLLER SKATESROLLER DERBY HELMETROLLER DERBY KNEE PADSROLLER DERBY ELBOW PADSROLLER DERBY WRIST GUARDSMOUTH GUARDDO YOU ALLOW DROP INS? No drop ins at this time. Historically we’ve not allowed drop ins for a few reasons: 1. Registrations ensure that costs can be covered (rent, insurance, etc) for the session and 2. When we had a progressive curriculum, it wasn’t safe to allow folks to come every once in awhile since things would get more advanced as the session went. If we continue with a non-curricula hybrid in the new year, I’ll look into changing the way we do things, if business looks like it will support it. REQUIRED: READ THE REFUND AND CREDIT POLICY. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO CONFIRM YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THIS POLICY. Refunds are only granted before the session begins. Refunds incur a $15 service fee. All other requests will be processed as credits and will adhere to the guidelines provided below - no exceptions. + Derby Skate Club refunds for the full cost of class registration fees will be granted to requests PRIOR to the first class of the session. Full Refunds requested PRIOR TO the session start incur a $15 service fee. Send requests to [email protected] + Pro-rated credits may be requested after the session start due to a skater dropping out because of unforseen circumstances like injury, illness or pregnancy. CREDITS ARE NOT ISSUED DUE TO SCHEDULE CONFLICTS. Send requests to [email protected] + Credits are not transferable. + Missed classes are not refundable. Please contact us directly if an unforseen circumstance arises requiring an extended absence from class. Send requests to [email protected] + Credits must be redeemed within 6 months. Unused credits are forfeited after the 6 month mark. ***CREDITS FROM BEFORE THE PANDEMIC MUST BE USED IN 2022 OR WILL BE FORFEITED*** WILL YOU REQUIRE MASKS OR TRACK VACCINES? No. That said, we will always follow any protocol Happy Wheels implements. Of course, skaters are welcome and encouraged to wear masks if they desire! GENDER POLICY Current class offerings are open to trans + cis women, trans men, genderqueer and non-binary folks. Our classes are currently closed to cisgender men. CHILDREN We love your children!
