Rising Against All Odds and DeLand Pride Present the 2022 World AIDS Day Gala, with silent auction, raffles, drag show and special guests with proceeds benefiting both organizations. Tickets are $40 in advance (via Eventbrite) and $50 at the door on the night of the event. Tickets include admission to the event, one free signature cocktail, light bites, access to a cash bar and entertainment hosted by Kirk T. DaVinci, featuring Aaliyah Nouveau, King Neal Debonair and other special guests. The event will be held at The Garden Club of DeLand from 6 PM to 10 PM to recognize World AIDS Day 2022. World AIDS Day, designated on December 1 every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease. The acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a life-threatening condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The HIV virus attacks the immune system of the patient and reduces its resistance to other 'diseases'. As of 2020, AIDS has killed 36.3 million between [27.2 million and 47.8 million] people worldwide, and an estimated 37.7 million people are living with HIV,[4] making it one of the most important global public health issues in recorded history.
