This class will teach you the basics on how to pose and direct people for amazing portraits. Learn from a professional photographer and model coach how to feel more comfortable with giving directions to people that result in stunning looks and poses. Posing people can often be difficult, especially when the subject already feels awkward or introverted in being in front of a camera. As a photographer, it can be hard to know what to say or do to make the subject feel at ease. Or maybe you have some go-to poses you use, but then run out and draw a blank. No one likes a forced smile, stiff pose or unflattering body parts getting in the way of what could be an amazing portrait! This lesson will focus on how to direct people to stand with their feet, legs, hips, torso, arms, hands and head. How you can pose without having to think about it too much or make it feel awkward for the client. You will also learn 10 go-to poses for men and women that you can use in further combinations for awesome portraits. The main prerequisites for this class is to bring your own camera and know the basics of taking pictures. You do NOT need to know how to use it in manual or even with flash. This class is going to be super fun as you will get to practice with other photographers, meet new people and walk away with more confidence! We will have two teachers for this class. One is Rey, one of our professional photographers and the other is Karina, a model coach for a local modeling agency. This class is for ANYone who wants to be a better portrait photographer. If you are taking pictures of people right now, then you NEED this lesson! This class will be held at my studio at 4501 Ford Avenue in Alexandria VA. There is both free street parking and paid parking under the garage.
