Utah State University Extension is offering a free 4-week series diabetes management class. This class is taught by two USU Extension faculty members who are registered dietitians, April Litchford and Jenna Dyckman. This class was designed with you in mind! We want to teach you the skills you need to help you on your journey of managing diabetes. Each class you will cook along with April and Jenna as they cook a new meal recipe and you'll get to eat the meal too! We invite you to bring a friend or a loved one with you to the class. You'll learn how to manage your diabetes symptoms and discover new cooking techniques to create delicious, diabetes-friendly meals! Participants will also receive a meal during each class, a diabetes cookbook, and a chance to win door prizes! Each class will build on the information learned in the last class. This class will cover topics including: Carbs, protein, and fat managementCooking new recipesGoal settingPhysical activityHealthy snackingand much more!There are only 20 seats available. Register for all four classes today to reserve your spot! Please only register for yourself, you do not have to register your support person. Please read the following section for more information: We are so excited to have you join us in the Diabetes Facts and Cooking Classes. We would like to invite you to participate in a research study as part of your participation in these classes. We are studying the effects of the education and social media support we are providing in these classes. We would appreciate your participation in helping us gather information about the benefit of these classes. You not required to participate in the study to come to these classes, this is an additional opportunity that you can choose to participate in if you would like. As part of the research, we will be gathering information about your weight, A1C, and other survey information. All information we gather will be done in a way to protect your privacy. This research will require a minimal amount of time from you, approximately 30 minutes to an hour. We will discuss this research study more on the first day of class and answer any questions you have.
