BOTH CAN BE TRUE
We have been told that the secret to a peaceful life is being able to hold two conflicting truths at once, yet society also teaches us to put singular labels on things. On ourselves.
“What do you do?”
“Where are you from?”
“What is your plan?”
But what if, in the words of Walt Whitman, we contain multitudes?
What does it mean to be both soft and strong?
Joyful and sad?
Excited and fearful?
Serious and silly?
This 2 ½ hour workshop will focus on the importance of duality. The both/and. We will begin our time with a technical practice – learning the art of calligraphy and the basics of architectural sketching. Next, we will transition through a 30 min. mindful meditation and yoga practice to ease us out of our thinking brains and into our bodies. The workshop will conclude with an informal, deliciously indulgent, haptic and playful finger-painting session.
Because our beauty is in our mess.
Come create with us and reconnect with your spirit.
Ticket will include a sketchbook, and a finished piece of work you can take home that will remind you that, yes. Both can be true.
