Description

Join us for refreshments and seasonal cheer at our Holiday Open House in Attica, one of five festive open houses we’re offering for Indiana Landmarks members around the state. Tucked along Main Street in downtown Attica, Cottrell Village is a picturesque cluster of three white-frame Greek Revival-style buildings that look plucked out of a New England scene. Attica native John Cottrell restored the properties in the late ‘80s and ‘90s as a gift to his hometown, and today the site is a favorite community gathering spot stewarded by our affiliate Fountain County Landmarks. At the Holiday Open House, gather in the c.1850 Attica Presbyterian Church for refreshments and musical entertainment by a brass quintet from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, then wander through the first floors of the 1850s Norman & Maria Brown House and William & Emeline Brown House. The event is free for members of Indiana Landmarks and Fountain County Landmarks with advance reservation. Learn more about other holiday open houses around the state at indianalandmarks.org/tours-events. Special thanks to co-host Fountain County Landmarks. Feel like traveling? Indiana Landmarks’ Attica Holiday Open House is one of five—go to one or all: December 1 at the Stutz Building in Indianapolis; December 8 at Hillforest in Aurora; December 13 at the Reid Center in Richmond; and December 15 at the historic home of Mary Ellen O’Connell and Pete Bauer in South Bend.
