JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of your job position is to ensure day-to-day maintenance of Sierra Care Clovis in accordance with the local and state and guidelines and regulations and as may be directed by the Administrator to assure that CLHF is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 1. Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent. 2. Two (2) years experience in a maintenance department in a healthcare facility preferred. 3. Training in environmental control practices and procedures preferred but not required. 4. Must be knowledgeable of housekeeping practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance functions in the nursing care facility. 5. Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Housekeeping Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of work areas. Must perform regular inspections of resident rooms/units for order, safety, and proper performance of equipment 2. Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of supervising maintenance tasks. 3. Supervise the day-to-day maintenance functions of assigned personnel. 4. Assist in developing procedures for performing daily maintenance tasks. 5. Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing maintenance assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas. 6.. Ensure that maintenance personnel follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. 7. Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a safe and attractive manner. 8. Assist in maintaining material safety data sheets (MSDSs) for hazardous chemicals in the maintenance department. 9. Ensure that containers of hazardous chemicals in the department are properly labeled and stored. 10. Ensure that all personnel performing tasks that involve potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or hazardous chemicals participate in appropriate in-service training programs prior to performing such tasks. 11. Ensure that maintenance personnel follow established handwashing procedures. 12. Ensure that maintenance personnel wear protective clothing/devices when performing tasks that involve the handling of blood, body fluids, infectious waste, and/or hazardous chemicals. 13. Ensure an adequate supply of maintenance supplies is maintained to perform daily tasks. 14. Assist in demonstrating new products, maintenance techniques, etc. as directed.
