Enjoy an evening of creation and explore a beautiful ceremonial meditation. Learn how to envoke your personal power into the element of fire by making candles. Serena Stornello owner of HEAL Holistic Journey Services began making candle for self-care. She discoverd the power of the flame and embarked on the journey of teaching others how to set their personal intentions into holistic products. There will be Birthday Cake with Serena at 8pm. You are invited to stay after the workshop for community hugs and laughter. Experience will vary but most will include a sense of oneness with the healing circle, a decrease in anxiety, and a deeper understanding of the simplicty in meditation. Latoya Thomas will lead an elemental meditation calling all elements and directions. She will bring energy for the fall havest to bring gratitude and abundance to ones life. Owners Caroline Heillenbrand and Sunshine Beauty & Bliss partnered to create this immersive wellness center for beauty services and holistic services. Serena Stornello Gunn is a person in recovery, community advocate for social justice. Serena is currently attending the University of Michigan - Flint for social work and is a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society. Serena’s driving force is her belief that a person can live a life free from intergenerational trauma and recover from codependent tendencies and addictions. She shares her experience with a substance use disorder and her decade of dark experiences with mental health institutions and unsuccessful treatment stays throughout her many attempts to figure out how to find a way back to the light during her use of substances and other addictions. She advocates for the expansion of peer recovery support with holistic modalities, prevention education, and harm reduction approaches for all humans. She currently is a certified alcohol and drug counselor in Michigan and North Carolina her new home state. She owns HEAL Holistic Journey Services that provides holistic coaching and holistic solutions for individuals and families looking for a significant change in their lives. Serena is a 2016 Rising Phoenix Nominee for her advocacy in addiction recovery. She formerly served as the President and later program coordinator of Serenity House Communities in Flint Michigan. She also served as President at the 513 Recovery Clubhouse in 2022 another recovery nonprofit in Flint Michigan. She currently provides counseling to teens struggling with the use of substances at Flint Odyssey House Inc for the last 5 years and is a proud graduate of the Odyssey Program in 2017. Serena is also a State Certified Peer Recovery Coach for Michigan. She became one of the first Recovery Reiki Masters in Tulum Mexico in February 2022. Serena is an acupuncture detoxification specialist and intuitive healer. She has been selected for a National Advocacy Training “Mobilize Recovery” in 2020 and currently works with the North Carolina Recovery Advocacy Project team to help create change for those who need it most. She is a believer of the people, a mother of two, stepmother of two and a wife. Serena is active in a 12 step program and mentors women to help them find their truest self. She is a believer in healing, magic, energy, and recovery. Serena currently resides in Eastover, North Carolina with her daughter Serenity and husband, a person in recovery also, Angelo.
