Husky mix looking for a home!

Description
Bolt is looking for his forever home!! His former home was unfamiliar with the breed and had some struggles with him. I am currently fostering him, I am working on getting his weight up a bit and have started getting him some training so he is ready to find his furever home! Bolt is a ~2.5 Husky mix He is not neutered but has an appointment that will need to be kept or scheduled with an adopters vet. We have a vet appointment tomorrow to confirm he is UTD on shots and healthy. He shares many typical husky traits, doesn't enjoy being confined, loves to explore, can be vocal, things are exponentially more fun when they are his idea (finding things to chew vs. Chewing the things that are his), generally aloof to new people, can be sensitive to handling. Thankfully he has not shown any interest in escaping our fully fenced yard. He came from a home that struggled with some of his husky behaviors so he will need someone familiar with the breed that can be patient with him as he adjusts and learns. He has done well meeting new people, but again can be aloof. He is more affectionate and interested in receiving affection from people in his circle. That being said he would have a difficult time tolerating children. He has shown lots of curiosity toward other dogs, and lived with another dog in his previous home. He has the potential to do well in a multi-dog household. He has found cats to be very interesting and chase worthy, and struggle in a home with cats. We have started some basic training, leash walking, recall, stationary behaviors, but he still has a ways to go to building fluent behaviors. His new home should be prepared to continue using positive reinforcement training methods with him. He has shown very minor signs of resource guarding freezing with a high value food object. He is easy to redirect and will accept trades. He is having a hard time adjusting to being left alone, he has made a lot of progress but he is still not a fan of his people being gone. He LOVES to be outside and would thrive in a home with a doggy door to let him safely go in and outside at his will. Along with a $150 rehoming fee, there will be other requirements including a home, and reference check. If you are seriously interested in Bolt or have any questions please reach out!
