When you become Christian, you receive the gift of the indwelling Spirit. If you are a good boy, and do your spiritual exercises daily, the Spirit grows, and guides you away from much harm, and towards a life of serenity, acceptance, and benevolence for others. Then, you no longer have to have others tell you how to live. You certainly enjoy feedback, but you are able to discern which to meditate on, which to receive, examine, and wait for further instruction, which to just receive and let go and move on.
