The Studio Cleveland - November 18th at 7pm Intro of Khenpo Namchak Dorji (bio):Khenpo Namchak Dorji is a Vajrayana Buddhist practitioner and a scholar of Tibetan Buddhism. He was born in Eastern Bhutan to a tantric-practitioner- (Ngakpa) family that oversees Long-nying Chöling Monastery. Since the age of four, he had the privilege to learn reading, writing, and Vajrayana rituals at his monastery under the guidance of his grandfather, Ven. Lama Norbu Wangdi as well as receiving formal secular education in Bhutan and India. After studying Buddhism for decades, he graduated with a Khenpo degree (Doctorate in Buddhist Philosophy) from the Nyingma Institute of Higher Buddhist Studies & Research Center in India while simultaneously receiving Buddhist teachings from more than a score of Tibetan and Buddhist masters. Since then Khenpo has not only immersed himself in the rigorous practice of Vajrayana Buddhism but taught a range of Buddhist philosophies and sacred Vajrayana arts in Bhutan, Nepal, India, and the US. For several years, Khenpo also has been serving as the Chief Editor of a Tibetan Buddhist Publishing House in the US and thus extensively contributed to the research and editing of the work of several treasure texts which resulted in the publication of several fully researched, edited, and proofread versions of various Tibetan Buddhist texts including their English translations. Currently, Khenpo also oversees the Long-nying Choling Monastery in eastern Bhutan by providing the requisite facilities to study and practice Buddhist teachings to all kinds of practitioners. He also leads pilgrimage tours to the hidden land of Bhutan occasionally. This event is by donation with all proceeds going to the monk!
