Join Summit County Behavioral Health, Live Like Sam, Webewell, and the Mental Wellness Alliance for an interactive event addressing the mental health crisis facing youth in Summit County, Utah, and the nation. This event is ideal for parents, educators, mental health professionals, and community partners. Our speakers will provide a general overview of the following: The prevalence of poor mental health in Summit County and some of the catalysts of the mental health issues facing youth. The importance of prevention to promote mental health in youth.The many behaviors within our control we can practice that improve mental health and well-being. The importance of pursuing happiness and its impact on mental health. Thrive: a youth well-being skills program launched in partnership between Live Like Sam and Webewell, serving Summit County.Following the keynote speakers, the Thrive psychoeducation facilitation team will guide participants through 30-45 minute well-being group sessions utilizing positive psychological interventions and other easily practiced well-being strategies. Schedule: 5:30pm-6:00pm Light Refreshments 6:00pm-6:45pm Speakers 6:45pm-7:00pm Q&A 7:00pm-7:45pm Optional Thrive Workshop Event Speakers: Alexander Becraft, MBC Alexander Becraft is a researcher in the space of mental health and well-being and the Founder and CEO of Webewell. Webewell delivers evidence-based skills from positive and clinical psychology to youth grades 6-12, and adults through app and web technology and psychoeducation peer support groups. Alexander designs and implements the group psychoeducation programs of the Thrive and Webewell programs. Carol Diener, PhD, J.D. Dr. Carol Diener is a child and adolescent clinical psychologist, forensic psychologist, and attorney, who has over thirty years of clinical experience. Carol Diener received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology, as well as a J.D. in law, from the University of Illinois, where she served as a faculty member in clinical psychology for 26 years.
