Description

International Achievement Week is a mandated program of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. This program was originally designed to promote the study of African American life and history. National Achievement Week began at the 1920 Grand Conclave in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1927, inspired by Bro. Dr. Carter G. Woodson, the Fraternity made National Negro Achievement Week an annual observance. In 1976, this commemoration evolved into Black History Month. The Achievement Week Program recognizes those individuals at the local and national level who have made significant contributions towards improving the quality of life for African-Americans. We will start our week long celebration by recognizing community leaders who have displayed a commitment to ensuring remarkable service within our community.
