Raising capital is a stressful undertaking, especially for a first-timer. Whether going after money from venture capital, grants, loans, or additional sources, you need to develop an intentional and actionable plan for raising money. Ascender is here to help! On Thursday, November 16, at 6 PM, we're bringing in experts to answer your questions and provide tips on preparing to fundraise. One size doesn't fit all. Not all businesses are going after the same type of funding. To ensure that all participants get the most out of this learning experience, we will offer two tracks during the FREE 1.5-hour interactive session. The groups will be divided by: 1.  Venture Capital (VC) Track Companies 2. Small Businesses You'll select the track that best suits your business and fundraising goals when you register. TRACK 1: VC-Track CompaniesWHO IS THIS FOR? This track is for startup founders who are building and growing their businesses & getting ready to fundraise from venture capital/private equity firms. Startup founders will walk away understanding: Steps founders can take to be of interest to investorsSlides, content, and figures that investors are looking for in a pitch deckHow to think about due diligence when going after investmentExamples and best practices of companies who have successfully fundraised their pre-seed or seed roundsFEATURING: Ilana Diamond, Managing Partner of 412 Venture Fund LP, is an entrepreneurial executive with a track record of leading and growing companies from early-stage to exit, including building management teams, managing mergers and acquisitions, and raising venture capital. Board leadership experience includes private companies and not-for-profit organizations. TRACK 2: SMALL BUSINESSESWHO IS THIS FOR? This track is for small business owners who are building and growing their businesses & getting ready to raise capital through more traditional means, like small business loans or grants. Small business owners will walk away understanding: Types of funding available for small businesses in our region and beyondHow to be of interest to economic development organizations that fund small businessesHow to think about due diligence when applying for economic development funding from organizations like the URASpecific steps and documentation needed to be eligible and a good fit for fundingFEATURING: Siena Kane, Engagement & Operations Manager, Commercial Lending and Investments at the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh (URA) Ascender is located at 6401 Penn Ave, 3rd Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
