MSO favorite, Adonis Gonzales returns as soloist in Rachmaninov’s highly virtuosic, lush, and bitter sweet Piano Concerto No. 3. Another legendary pianist-composer, Franz Liszt explores the quintessential themes of romanticism in the symphonic poem, Les Preludes. This program opens with Valerie Coleman’s Seven O’Clock Shout premiered in 2020 as a tribute to the heroic efforts of health care works during the Covid-19 pandemic.
