For the past 16 years, the SWFL Alpha Educational & Leadership Foundation, Inc. in conjunction with the members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Xi Omicron Lambda Chapter, has presented the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast. The vision for the breakfast is to bring together diverse members of the community and serve as an example of “unity” as envisioned by Dr. King. 2023 is the 60th anniversary of Dr. King's “I Have A Dream” speech and this year’s theme is “Now Is the Time”… Bring the Dream to Reality! We will also take the opportunity to recognize four of our outstanding community leaders that espouse the spirit of Dr. King with our 2023 “Keeper of the Dream” Award. Join us as we recognize and celebrate these outstanding community leaders: • Marcus Goodson – Executive Director - Lee County Housing Authority • Jim Nathan – retired President of Lee Health (formerly Lee Memorial) • Karen Spears – Founder & CEO – Freely Give, Inc.
