The Del Norte girls track and field program is looking for volunteer coaches in various events. This coach will be in charge of a small group of athletes during our team practices.
Assistant Coach Positions: There are 3 total assistant positions available to cover any of the following events:
- Hurdle events includes the 100m and 300m hurdles.
- Jumping events includes long jump, triple jump and/or high jump.
- Throwing events include discus, shot put and/or javelin.
- Pole vault
Qualifications:
You must be available at least 3 days a week for afternoon practices and some Saturday's for meets.
Some previous experience competing and/or coaching in one of these events is required.
Season Information:
Pre-season begins in December, 2022. We will practice 3 tmes a week after school.
Regular season practices will begin in February, 2023. They will normally be Monday-Friday around 3-5pm and will be held at Del Norte High School.
Meets officially begin in March, 2023 through May, 2023 and will be held in the Albuquerque area.
These are technically considered as volunteer coaching assistant positions; however, you will receive a stipend at the end of the track season. Stipend will be dependent on your availability. A minimum of $400-600 total will be paid at the end of the track season.
Hiring Process:
Initial phone interview(s). Additional interviews will be in-person at Del Norte High School.
This position is for a local applicant from the Albuquerque area. The public school system does not cover any relocation expenses.
