Description
I have hiked for miles looking for Truffles Around these BLM roads and have found a couple locations with a few. This summer I did a lot of work in my Doug Fir woods on my property. I Pruned all the lower dead limbs, filled in holes and graded it to make it safer to ride my 4x4. Because the ground was so Hard I ran sprinklers for 2 weeks during the summer and finished up my work at he end of August. A few days ago I started seeing a bunch of small dug holes all over the area I worked in and didn't know what was causing it until yesterday when I saw something white at the bottom of one of the holes. It was a big Truffle. I realized all those holes were from a fox I believe that has been eating like a king. I guess this particular Truffle was to big so he moved on which is the only reason I found out it was truffles. In about a half hour I went around every little hole the fox made I pulled back some dirt and the picture you see is what I found in a very short time. I don't believe many of the ones I found were quit ripe for harvest but could not help myself to see that these trees are just loaded with these delicate expensive mushrooms. I would like to find some one with a truffle dog or pig, that might be interested in partnering with me to harvest and sell Truffles. Please email me if your interested or know somebody who might be.
