Description
A row house has a drain blockage in the back yard.
A PVC section of about 4 feet connects from the house drain pipe to a cast iron pipe that goes out from the back of the house, under the back yard to the sewer in the alley. We have an inside blockage and all drains back up. There is about 5 inches of the cast iron pipe protruding in the basement before it goes into the back wall under the back porch and into the back yard. We removed the PVC section and inserted a 25 ft rod into the drain until we hit something under the yard and we could not go any further.
It appears that the blockage in somewhere under the yard. We opened the outside drain pipe, poured water in there and is runs smoothly. The outside drain pipe is about 2 feet from the sewer line in the alley. We checked the sewer outside and it is clear. We need help to remove the blockage. We had an auger, but it does no go that far.
A better auger than ours would do the trick.
Please respond by giving me an price estimate on removing the blockage.
