Summary: Boulder Medical Center (BMC)is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team! This position is per diem (PRN) / as needed. Apply via www.BoulderMedicalCenter.com. Day shift schedules are Monday through Friday. There are occasional voluntary four (4) hour shifts on Saturday mornings from 8 am - 12 pm for several primary clinics (Family Medicine and Pediatrics). Experience working in both primary care and specialty care clinics. Job Duties: Installs, repairs or replaces the following in accordance with industry/trade standards: Electrical Plumbing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Framing and Concrete Drywall and Finishing Painting Finish Carpentry Carpets and Flooring Ceiling Finishes and Details Roofing Office Furniture Medical Equipment Irrigation Systems Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all building emergency and environmental systems. Records all usual and unusual operations of that equipment in maintenance records. Detects and initiates corrective maintenance as needed. Maintains grounds and parking lots to ensure a safe environment and a uniformly neat and clean appearance. Keeps landscaping healthy and visually appealing. Keeps sidewalks and driveways free of snow, ice, and other hazards. Responds to repair requests in a timely fashion, completing repairs within two working days, if at all possible (ASAPs are responded to immediately). Minimizes waste in all areas of work by preplanning, pooling resources, coordinating materials procurement with co-workers, and minimizing interruptions. Performs on call duties at all BMC sites as assigned. Experience and Skills Demonstrated knowledge of commercial building construction, maintenance, mechanical systems and local building codes and regulations. Understanding of quality improvement processes for maintenance operations preferably in a healthcare or clean room environment. Computer literate with demonstrated working knowledge of programs such as MS Outlook, Word and Excel. Working knowledge of Auto-CAD, computer-based door access systems and building automated systems, highly desired Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as documentation and organizational skills. Must be able to relate well and communicate with staff, physicians, and patients. Must demonstrate initiative in establishing priorities and working with little supervision. Must maintain a high level of precision in judgment and accuracy of assessment in diverse maintenance situations. Requires strong problem-solving skills. Requirements: Maintenance Tech I Job Requirements (salary range - $15.17 - $19.72/hour; depending on experience): Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or specialized training in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, equipment, and plant facilities, a plus. Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of progressively responsible experience performing semi-skilled maintenance work in the areas of carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC. Previous healthcare construction or maintenance experience, highly desired. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to respond to emergency calls and for travel to all BMC site locations. Maintenance Tech II Job Requirements (salary range - $20.19 - $26/hour; depending on experience): Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree with maintenance-related certification or a bachelor’s degree in a related field, a plus. Must possess technical or specialized training in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, equipment, and plant facilities. Experience: Minimum 5-8 years’ experience performing skilled or semi-skilled maintenance work in the areas of carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC. Previous healthcare construction or maintenance experience, highly desired. Experience directing the maintenance work of others and coordinating activities, highly desired. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to respond to emergency calls and for travel to all BMC site locations.
