The Maintenance Technician position serves two 55+ senior buildings located in Savage next door to each other; Glendale Place, 4615 W 123rd st, a 62-unit building; and The Hamilton, 4635 w 123rd st, a 42-unit apartment building. Hours are Monday - Friday during regular business hours of 9am to 3pm, five hours per day. This position accrues vacation and sick time and has paid holidays. This position is entry-level; willing to train! Job Objective(s): To perform work orders in a timely manner that includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, keys and locks, appliances, lighting, carpentry, repairs in occupied units and units at turnover. The Maintenance Technician reports to and takes direction from the Community Manager of the property. Duties include inspections, working with vendors, and reporting to the Community Manager. Maintenance Technician Responsibilities: • Assist in maintaining all mechanical equipment, emergency systems, building fixtures and groundwork as needed. • Complete all work orders quickly and efficiently. • Interacts positively with all team members in maintaining census by immediately completing apartment turns and assist with custodial duties as needed. • Maintain the grounds, trash, sweep, dumpster areas, snowplow, etc. • Perform manual repairs on general appliances, units, and common area as needed Maintenance Technician Qualifications: •Maintenance experience is preferred, but not required. • Skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, appliances, doors & windows. • Ability to motivate oneself and work independently • Ability to relate to the elderly in a patient, compassionate and courteous manner. • Current, valid driver’s license
