ScanFair brings Scandinavia to Portland through traditional food and drink vendors; an entertainment program focused on cultural heritage; games, activities, and crafts; and welcoming local community organizations. Tickets are valid for both days! Just keep your wristband to access the 2nd day of festivities. Krogstag Aquavit (Booth 210) - Featuring samples of Krogstad aquavit neat and in mini-cocktails, and selling bottles of Krogstad aquavit to take home Oran Mor Artisan Meadery (Booth 206)- Mead tastings and bottle sales for off premise consumption, mead horns, and merchandise Ridgewalker Brewing (Booth 211) - Beer garden featuring samples and special guests Rolling River Spirits (Booth 501) - Scandinavian spirit Aquavit with both aged and unaged varieties. Watch the procession as they walk through the event with candle crowns. Check it out Sunday at 12:30pm. Joulapukki ("Finnish Santa Claus") Take a photo with Joulapukki and his reindeer, Oskar! Find Santa in the central area by the exhibit hall entrance. Brought to you by the Finlandia Foundation Columbia-Pacific Chapter (booth 311). Viking Ship and Timberhaven Vikings Take a picture with a20' replica Viking Ship and learn how Vikings lived with an historical exhibit featuring Viking re-enactors. Find the ship in the central area by the entrance, and the Timberhaven Vikings in booth 249. Kid's Area Create ornaments and other crafts, draw in coloring books, create Nordic walking sticks, and more! Scavenger Hunt We've hidden 30 gnomes throughout the event! Can you find them? Sign up at the Nordic Northwest table at booth 135, finish the scavenger hunt, and collect your prize. Raffle Buy tickets to the raffle at the Nordic Northwest table at booth 137 and choose which items you want to try your luck for! Top prize is a $500 gift certficate to Icelandair! Eating Contests Sign up at the Nordic Northwest area (booth 135)! Pickled herring is provided by Broder Söder (at 1:15pm Saturday) and meatballs provided by Scandinavian Cafe (1:30pm Sunday) Scadinavian of the Year Who will win this prestigious achievement in 2022? Find out on the stage, Saturday at 1pm. Kubb ("Viking Chess") Showcase your skills or learn how to play this lawn game, rumored to have been created by Vikings in the Middle Ages. Prop and fake weapons are allowed as part of Viking costumes if they will not hurt anyone accidentally. No guns are allowed, real or fake. Money It's always a good idea to bring cash to our festivals, as paying by cash at vendor booths always keeps things moving smoothly. Most vendors will accept credit cards. Getting Here Just 8 miles from Portland International Airport (PDX), visitors can access the Oregon Convention Center (OCC) via Interstate 5 North from Exit 302A–Rose Quarter, or from Interstate 84 West Exit 1–Lloyd Boulevard.
