Description
Oh, how I have missed this! Missed YOU! I'm offering 2 more popup classes in November. You can sign up for one or both. Join me in exploring joyful movement and connecting with fat-liberation community! Come learn an accessible dance routine to your favorite pop song and practice: ~ Moving for the fun of it. ~ Deepening the connection with your body. ~ Giving yourself what you need when you need it. ~ Putting yourself out there to meet new people and make new friends! Safety: This class is masks optional, vax required. Please cancel if you have any exposures, risks, or symptoms. I will refund you 100% if this is your reason for cancelling, so please send me a message. I know this doesn't work for everyone, and I am so sorry. It's for sure an imperfect solution. If you have any worries about your stamina, know that I plan to dial down the intensity of class a bit from prior to the pandemic. Many of us have lost some stamina, and for those wearing masks I understand it adds an extra layer of exertion. Accessibility: There are no stairs, but the front door has a deep lip that wheelchairs have been able to get over with some extra effort. Two bathrooms are single stall, gender neutral, and ADA compliant (large for turning, grab bars). The space is NOT scent free, and sometimes I have noticed a whiff of incense. There are 4 stools available at about knee height which is a good way to take part or all of the class from a seated position. I try to provide adaptations and variations on movement, but I do generally develop class with a leaning towards bodies that are standing. This is a low pressure environment where breaks and self care are encouraged and there are lovely lounging areas where you can rest and still be in the space with us (or more private resting areas as well). * This is a fat-positive space. Absolutely no diet or weight loss talk or comments on other people’s bodies will be tolerated. We recognize that each of us is on our own unique journey towards acceptance with our bodies, and we agree to keep a neutral approach and refrain from negative criticism of our bodies to keep this a welcoming space for all. * In this space we are all committing to working towards recognizing our own privileges, implicit biases, and respecting and honoring those folks of oppressed groups. We aim to create a supportive and safe environment for BIPOC, LGBTQI community, folks of all genders, and folks of varying abilities (accessibility info below).
