Duties and responsibilities:
Installation of irrigation pipe, wires, valves
Assembly and installation of irrigation heads and drip systems
Basic understanding of a commercial irrigation design plan.
Must have reliable transportation to/from the office and/or job site.
Must be able to perform as part of a team in a professional manner.
Basic knowledge of materials and equipment needed.
Must be punctual, responsible, and have a positive, can-do attitude.
Demonstrate dependability and efficient work practices.
Must read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge of installation of Poly & PVC pipe
Desired:
Basic head installation and adjustment (spray, gear, impact)
Basic controller programming
Basic valve/wiring installation
Copper soldering
Some familiarity with various irrigation components such as:
a) Backflow Preventers
b) Two-wire systems
c) Master Valves
d) Rain sensors
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The position spends most working hours outside in all temperatures and weather conditions.
The position requires bending, stooping, reaching, walking, and lifting especially when maintaining in-ground irrigation systems.
Technicians should be comfortable with and have the physical and manual dexterity to operate heavy equipment and use of digging tools (backhoes, dump trucks, front-end loaders, small and large trenchers, shovels, and augers). Irrigation systems are installed underground and must be excavated to specified depths; installers need to be comfortable working with digging equipment/tools.
Exposure to dust, grease, noise, and chemical vapors – Ability to move and lift 50 lbs., ask for help for heavier things.
