The Georgetown Retail & Luxury Association, in collaboration with the Global Business Initiative, is thrilled to announce that thrilled to announce that Alex Bolen, Global Chief Executive Officer of Oscar De La Renta, will be joining us for an in-person conversation and Q&A event. The event will take place on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM EDT in the Copley Formal Lounge. In July 2004, Mr. Bolen was appointed Global Chief Executive Officer of Oscar De La Renta. Prior to his current role, Bolen had a 14-year career on Wall Street, specializing in leveraged finance. Mr. Bolen is a graduate of the prestigious Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Since starting as CEO, Bolen has overseen a dramatic shift in the company’s business model from license-based to e-commerce and self-owned storefronts. Under his leadership, the brand has successfully established retail stores around the world and expanded its geographic footprint through both retail and wholesale channels. Throughout his tenure, Bolen has emphasized the importance of social media to drive consumer engagement and continues to encourage increased technology adoption in the brand’s operations. During the event, we will be hearing from Mr. Bolen about his career journey; Oscar De La Renta’s growth and expansion under Mr. Bolen’s leadership; the evolution and legacy of the Oscar De La Renta brand; and advice for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the luxury space.
