The United States and Europe are currently more politically divided and in more dire threat of major international conflict than any time since World War II.
The war in Ukraine and such events as the economic crash in the UK and the election of the far right in Italy exemplify the times.
This conference focuses on the ways in which we might conceptualize such challenging problems. Based on ongoing research in Europe and the United States, papers address questions of race, exacerbated economic inequality, social movements and the processes of capitalism. We hope to provide an exciting forum for discussion of futures including alternative visions and protest.
