Description

Join us in our efforts to reduce overdose deaths in our community. In this FREE Narcan Administration Training you will learn how to recognize an overdose, steps to take when you recognize an overdose, and how to administer the life-saving medicine Narcan. Narcan, also known as Naloxone, is a medication approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose. In 2017, NH hit a peak with 490 overdoses in one year. NH was able to see 11% decrease in opioid related overdoses with access to Narcan. This class is for any person who interacts with individuals who use opioids. In other words, this class is for EVERYONE. In 2019, an estimated 10.1 million people aged 12 or older misused opioids (hhs.gov). Even if you don't think you interact with individuals who use opioids, you probably do. You could save a life by taking this class. This class is hosted by Addiction Recovery Coalition of New Hampshire (ARCNH) and facilitated by ARCNH Executive Director, Kate Choquette, Certified Overdose Education and Prevention with Narcan Trainer.
