As a country, we are failing those who have sacrificed the most. Conventional treatments are not adequately helping our veterans. Join us this Veterans Day as we examine the role psychedelics may play in healing our wounded brothers and sisters. Starting at the State Theatre at the Paramount, we will screen the documentary film From Shock to Awe, which details the lives of US combat veterans and their transformational healing journeys with alternative medicines. Afterwards, an expert panel will discuss the urgent need for veterans to have access to these life-saving treatments: Ian Benouis, Co-Founder, Church of PsilomethoxinGreg Fonzo, Co-Director, Center for Psychedelic Research and Therapy, Dell Medical School, University of Texas at AustinAmy Rising, Veteran Healthcare AdvocateEthan Rocke, Journalist (moderator)After the panel, we will walk a few blocks over to famed music club Antone's. We'll enjoy cocktail style food stations, catch up with old friends, and make new ones. Buenos Diaz will rock the stage followed by a DJ set from Johnny Hendrix. Event proceeds will go to Heroic Path to Light, an entheogenic church dedicated to the healing journeys of veterans and first responders. Nonprofit partner for the event is SIMS Foundation, who provides mental health and substance use recovery services for musicians, music industry professionals, and their dependent family members.
