Low-water use gardening is more than using Cacti & Succulents in your garden. This class has been developed to give O’ahu gardeners the basics of growing xeric veggies., herbs and also ornamentals; both Native Hawaiian and non-natives. You will learn to use water responsibly to successfully grow xeric plants in your garden.
Prepare for short time outdoors (close-toed shoes, hat, H2O).
Time will be taken for Q&A from participants
Take home select plants and/or seeds or cuttings to try at home. A small selection of xeric plants will be available for purchase.

Guest registration required.Hours of event admittance from 8:40 to 11:30 am. The restrooms will be open during the event hours.Please bring a water bottle. Food will not be for sale on-site.No pets are allowed (with the exception of guide animals)For the safety of our guests, the rest of the garden is closed to self-tours. UH COVID Policy: Face masks are optional and highly recommended indoors. Masking is required for those who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or has contracted the virus. They must wear a mask for the duration of the 10-day isolation period. Someone who has been infected may return on day 6 if their symptoms are substantially improved and they have not had any fever in the preceding 24 hours. Due to the nature of the workshop, we highly recommend that minors under the age of 18 years of age do not attend.
