The BIWoC Affinity Ride meets at 1:00 pm at the Old Fort Ride House parking lot. This group ride is open to all skill levels, including beginners, and an overview of foundational skills will be offered for anyone interested before the ride. You can expect to ride 5–6 miles. Plan on arriving 15 minutes early to find the group. The Ride House bike shop opens at 8:30 am if your bike needs a quick fix before the ride.
This ride is for self-identified Black women, Indigenous women, and women of color (BIPoC) only. It is meant to be an affinity space that is inclusive and intersectional, with the aim of increasing access to MTB for BIPoC while fostering new relationships, promoting confidence, and having fun on a bike! As such, we ask that anyone who does not self-identify as a BIPoC not register for this group.
In order to make this ride as accessible as possible, we will have a number of bikes available to loan for the ride. If you need to borrow a bike and/or need a helmet, please let us know when you register.
Feel free to reach out and let us know your biking experience, as well as any additional questions you may have.
Questions? Please reach out to Diana (828) 394-9829 or email [email protected].
