It is ever increasing and the ease at which we consume it is ever growing. Are we aware of the dangers this presents to parents and children? Research is just beginning to see the impact this is having on individuals and society as a whole. Since parents are technology immigrants and their children are technology natives, it is important for professionals to know how to educate parents and teach them the impact it has on both them and their kids. We cannot abstain from technology, but learning how to use this in a sustainable and healthy way will be of utmost importance now and for years to come. Objectives: Identify alarming statistics of technology overuse Learn what is the difference between and digital native versus a digital immigrant Identify strategies to use technology in a sustainable manner Describe what the parenting pyramid is and how to use it with parents and their kidsContinuing Education: 1.5 Continuing Education Credits or NBCC Clock Hours available. Please note you must register to receive a continuing education certificate. No partial credit will be given.• The Meadows is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Meadows maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
