This event is a partnership/sponsorship between Philander Smith College (PSC), The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), Shorter College (SC), and Arkansas Baptist College (ABC). We hope that you can come to Little Rock, Arkansas' downtown historic Dunbar community at Arkansas Baptist College for one day and be a part of history. The state-wide 'Arkansas HBCU Black Wall Street Career Fest’ 2022 will include all four (4) Historically Black Colleges & Universities (Arkansas Baptist College, Philander Smith College, Shorter College, and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff) featuring, but not limited to their 3rd & 4th-year learners. Dozens of mostly African American employers will have tables set up for a career, internship, graduate school, military, entrepreneurship, volunteering & job opportunities. Arkansas HBCUs will display collegiate unity with this event. This one-day event is designed to have a Black Wall Street (BWS) theme of targeting Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, executives, military leaders, law enforcement heads, nonprofit minds, and clergy leaders alike that are in need of career-minded HBCU students to hire, partner with or internship. There were over 80 other Black Wall Street metro areas outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma's Greenwood district between 1880 to 1950. Arkansas HBCUs, business owners, leaders, and students are paying homage to Tulsa's Greenwood district, Little Rock's 9th Street, N.C.'s Wilmington, Florida's Rosewood, Philadelphia (Pa.), NYC's Central Park & Harlem, Washington, D.C., the town of Elaine (Arkansas) and more. Arkansas HBCU Career Services leadership team hopes this inspires the 100 other HBCUs to adopt this pilot model and invest in their student body with the BWS model so they can sustain economic freedom, and grow financial vitality that turns into generational wealth.
