The Apartment Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the buildings are in good working order. They take pride in the quality of work delivered and complete their work with safety and efficiency at the top of the list of their priorities. This is a full-time position on the East side, in Happy Valley. The maintenance technician will work within an apartment community team and has a set weekly schedule. 40 hours per week, working 5 days (Thursday - Monday), with 2 days off in a row (Tues/Wed); 8:00am – 5:00pm with 1 hour for lunch; everyone on the teams shares the responsibility of the emergency maintenance phone coverage. We are seeking a self-starter that is motivated to get the job done; this work includes: • Unit turnover work • Painting, caulking, drywall repair, texture • Electrical (basic), Plumbing (basic) • Vinyl flooring (remove/replace) • Appliance replacement (repair) • Water heater installation (repair) • Carpentry work (basic), Finish detail • Pool/spa cleaning/chemical balancing • Daily grounds policing/entry • Completing maintenance work orders in occupied apartment homes We are offering a competitive salary, commissions, and excellent benefits package, to include: • $22 to $26 DOE • Kaiser medical and vision insurance (paid by employer, for the employee) • Optional Kaiser dental insurance • 401k plan (with an employer match) • 6 Paid Holidays • Paid Vacation (after 90 days) • Paid Sick time (after 90 days) • Reimbursement for mileage The ideal candidate will have over 5 years’ experience in the multifamily industry, or construction. Must be able to lift/twist/bend and carry up to 50lbs. Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, use basic hand tools, kneel, squat and bend; assist in a two-person lift of household appliances. Able to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules and instructions. Able to work with resident manager to establish workflow priorities.
