Description
The Material Handler provides direct support to the Supply Chain Team and is responsible for material handling, general shipping and receiving transactions, and providing assistance to the welding and machine shops as needed. Forklift proficiency is required! Pay depends on experience, so tell us what you think you are worth. Duties include but are not limited to: • Operate cranes to safely move parts • Operate a forklift to safely move palletized and loose parts • Load and unload trucks • Reviews the identifying information of incoming shipments to verify the items against bills of lading, purchase orders, packaging slips, materials, or other records. • Follow procedures to maintain traceability at all times. • Move material per production orders and shop load reports using fork lifts, cranes, and hand trucks. • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, counts items, weighs, measures, records shortages, rejects damaged items. • Completes shipping, receiving and material transactions in ERP system. • Scan and file of all required traceability documentation. • Assist machine shop with set-ups, shop movements, empty hoppers. • Assist Quality Inspectors with detailed receiving inspections. • Assist with physical inventory and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a material handler, shipping or receiving technician or similar. • Forklift certification, experience with lifts greater the 20k capacity. • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and 5S. • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products and ERP systems. • Must be able to read, understand, learn and follow written and verbal safety, quality and work instructions. • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills • Must be authorized to work in the US Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
