Smithville, an established and trusted local provider of Internet, Voice, and Enterprise data services is seeking a flexible, energetic, Installer to join our Outside Plant Operations team. As an Installer, you will complete installation of landline telephones and related work within both fiber optic and copper network deployments. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMust be able to make all types of one-, two-, and three-line installations of landline telephones. Including plugs and jacks Use of an OTDR, Optical Power Meter, and Copper Test Equipment to localize line trouble, in both fiber optic and copper networks, and communicate repair when needed Pick up copper cable pairs and install terminal blocks or splice pairs through to drop as required Know both fiber optic and copper cable color code Splice and terminate fiber optic cable within ONT (Optical Network Terminal) and related FTTH/FTTX network equipment Follow guidelines of all grounding procedures related to scope of work performed Run tests to insure proper operation of installation Complete all required reports when job is completed to ensure the accuracy of plant records Observe and practice all safety rules Will travel and stay out of town occasionally (10% to 15% of time), when necessary.
