On Friday, October 21, 2022, we lost a community champion: Denise Bacon. Through her roles with the Ford Family Foundation, Newberg City Council, Rotary Club of Newberg (Noon), Newberg-Dundee Police Foundation, Nurture Newberg, the Community Prevention & Wellness Fund, and countless other efforts, Denise has been a significant leader throughout our state, specifically around community service, rural development, and primary prevention. Her heart was in caring for our most vulnerable community members and in empowering other people to lead. In lieu of flowers or gifts, Denise's request is for support of the Newberg-Dundee Police Foundation. We're grateful to have benefitted from Denise's leadership and vision and she's greatly missed. The Celebration of Life for Denise Bacon will be held on Sunday, November 13th, at 2:00pm in the Newberg High School gymnasium (2400 Douglas Ave, Newberg, 97132, although alternate access is the South Entrance on Elliott Road). She has also requested that guests refrain from wearing black.
