Eliot To become truly present, you must first learn how to sit with yourself in stillness. It requires practice and patience. Meditation serves as one of the most powerful tools available to you in this journey. This workshop is open to all levels of practitioners and will introduce you to the three major branches of meditation and briefly cover the science of meditation. Learn subtle tricks that will help you overcome the mind chatter and uncomfortableness that is bound to occur when you try to sit still. Please: Wear comfortable clothingBring cozy socks, layers, a shawl or blanket, and a meditation cushion or pillow (the studio also has meditation cushions available).Mala beads (if you use them) and a journal if you would like to take notes.INSTRUCTOR BIO: Carrie Tyler, RN, CHPN, HNB-BC, E-RYT500 is a certified holistic nurse, death and bereavement doula, minimalist, yoga therapist and teacher trainer. Carrie is known for her compassionate and playful teaching style and her strong knowledge of anatomy, alignment, and yogic lifestyle. She is a writer and business consultant for both the fitness and medical industries. Her work has been featured at numerous conferences including Wanderlust and Yoga Journal as well as in national magazines such as Pilates Style and Mantra Magazine. She is an initiate of the Aghor Yoga Lineage of Sonoma Ashram whose guiding principles help her stay committed to a life of selfless service and simplicity. She currently works full-time in healthcare, and in her spare time walks the tree-lined streets of Cary with her husband Nate, and Mercy, her exuberant therapy dog-in-training.
