Birth Dei is a wellness initiative curated by multidisciplinary artist a Brilliant Dummy that focuses on providing tools and resources at the intersection of visual arts and wellness to bring about restorative healing in black and brown communities. We believe that wellness is a birthright of every human. In the first episode of the Birth Dei series, we introduce Birth Dei: Noisemakers, which focuses on the art of sound therapy. Sound healing is an ancient healing technique that uses music, sound waves, and vibrational frequencies to help slow down brain waves and bring the body to a deeply restorative state. Sound Healing improves spiritual, emotional and physical well-being. We are creating a safe space for you to explore this healing modality, release, and experience joy so that you are able to add this tool to assist you on your own personal healing journey. So bring a friend (and a small blanket) for some Sunday self-care! This sound journey will include: One hour sound bath session led by sound healing practitioner Danielle Whiteside, that will include a 15 minute restorative breath-work session + 45 minutes of sound meditation.After relaxing the body, continue the sound journey with a special live music performance by Philadelphia Percussionist @Hudson.RiverMeditation cushions will be provided during the event for everyone (By Projectfull).
