The Collierville Rosenwald School was the only public school for Black children in Collierville TN from 1921 until desegregation. The building was burned down in the 1970s and nothing remains on the site to tell the story or preserve the history. Collierville Community Justice is working to produce a video documentary on the school to preserve the stories and memories of our friends and neighbors that attended there.
The National Civil Rights Museum has a special exhibit on Rosenwald Schools right now, and we want to give our community an opportunity to tour the museum and experience that exhibit together.
