Amateur Saw Player, looking for people to play music with

I guess I’d say I’m an advanced beginner musical saw player— have gotten past most of the terrible squeaks and ready to try playing with people. The musical saw is an inherently weird instrument… I’d fit best with people who like to play space age bachelor pad or exotica… anything spooky, or with space mermaids singing like in the original Star Trek theme. If I could describe my dream place in a band, I would play the saw the way the two ladies in the B-52s sing. There are a lot of songs you just can’t play on a saw- but it can strangely fit with a lot of genres, i play along with a pretty wide range. Some artists I have tried playing along to lately: Michael Jackson, M.I.A, Martin Denny, Britney Spears, Asylum Street Spankers, Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, Psy's Gangnam Style, The Clash, Vampire Weekend, Yma Sumac, Augustus Pablo. I can’t read music, but i can pick things up by ear if i listen to them and play a long. I can generally tell if i will be able to figure out a song by trying once or twice, then go home and listen to it and play along with a recording till i figure it out. I live in West Philly, and these days i only get around on bicycle- so my range of where i can go is limited to the city. I can host.
