This is Kieko, a female husky that’s around 2 years old. She’s a typical husky, full of energy and ready to have some fun. She’s great with everyone, loves other dogs (especially ones her size) and her favorite place on earth is the dog park. Speaking of size, she’s a smaller husky around 35lbs and will be 40-45lbs at her optimal weight. We rescued her from the shelter where she was depressed, coming down with kennel cough and wasn’t eating or drinking. We’ve had her in our home, giving her time to adjust with lots of love, time to socialize and work with a trainer. We’ve been working on her weight and she’s gaining and eating. Because of her lack of being offered consistent meals in the past, she prefers to eat alone and so we crate her so she feels safe and relaxed. She loves going in her crate for her meals and is fully crate and house trained. Kieko optimally needs a family with a big backyard so she can have space to run or a very active person or family. Any fencing needs be very secure and minimum of 6 feet as huskies are jumpers. Huskies cannot often be off leash dogs in unsecured areas as they are runners. We’ve worked with her a lot on not running to the door when she knows it’s going to open but her new owner will need be careful and always have her on her leash when not in a secure area. She loves car rides and does very well in the car. She is an indoor dog and should not be kept outside. She has good indoor manners and is not destructive. She loves to lounge on a dog bed or on the couch and chew a bone. Our top wishes for her forever home are these: Home owner with a large, fenced backyard and/or someone who is very active and will take her on runs, hiking, etc. Someone who has another friendly dog who enjoys a good game of chase and is playful. She has very good manners when playing bit can be a bit much for smaller dogs though we have small dogs and she has learned how to play gently with them. Someone who has done a lot of research on huskies and is familiar with their quirks, tendencies and needs. Her rehoming fee is $500 and she will come with her crate, bowls, collar, leash, harness, favorite chew and some food. She is microchipped, UTD on her shots and will be spayed soon.
