Description
Hey fellow Duke City musicians,
I'm Jordan of the local ABQ band First Floor Highway (www.1stflrhwy.com) we're launching our Post-Pandemic rebuild of the band and are looking for folks of like mind to join us. We have an 80s new-wave/post-punk inspirited sound where we take our favorite songs from all genres (blues, country, metal, etc.) and reimagine them as danceable new-wave /post-punk tunes. We essentially combine the best of both worlds where we play easily recognizable cover tunes but perform them as originals.
Check out our website for demo tracks of the band's style and such to see if you're possibly interested in joining forces. As of now, we are lead vocals/rhythm guitar, and lead guitar and are seeking a bassist and drummer to fill in the core of the family, however, were also interested in anyone who is interested in playing/gigging with us, so we would like to leave the door open to anyone such as horn players, keyboardists, an acoustic strummer, etc. who want to be part of the bands sound.
Before the pandemic, we rehearsed once a week and played around town 1 to 3 times a month depending on the gigs available and such. We are actively working to get back to that level of things. We rehearse at my place here in downtown ABQ near 12th street and Lomas. I have a backline of amps, drums, PA system, etc. to make things easy.
We are very much a 'dad band' in the fact that we don't tour, are in our 40s/50s, have stable jobs (I'm a professor up at UNM), have families, are not trying to pay the rent by gigging, but are friendly, creative, dedicated musicians who love to play music with others of like mind, want to have fun but also put in the effort required to play gigs around town.
Anyway, I get tired of ads that go on for too long, but thanks for your time, reach out if interested.
Cheers!
