"Our economy is not controlled by our Congressional/Senate reps, and in fact our economy isn’t controlled by our Government either." Your opening sentence should read: 'our economy SHOULD NOT be controlled by the government.' But doesn't Biden have a green energy policy that basically shuts down most domestic fossil fuel production? Isn't that governmental control of part of the economy? Haven't they also decided that we will have EVs by 2050, or in California, 2035? Isn't that a form of government control? When the left complains about corporations not paying 'their fair share' of taxes, isn't that usually because the corporations are simply following the tax codes and taking significant advantages of subsidies/rebates for green energy investments (like GE for years)? Isn't that a form of governmental control? I could have sworn that Biden mandated vaccines and lockdowns which have been pretty much debunked. These have cost millions in damage to the economy; serious problems with our kids' educations; and people being fired because they won't get a vaccine. Isn't that government control? No sir, we do not have a true 'free market'. You're correct, any idiot should be able to see that if you clamp down on oil production in the country, oil prices go up. That's DIRECTLY related to Joe Biden. When energy goes up, the cost of everything else goes up as well. Shipping cost more, materials cost more, heating cost more... so products cost more. When the left sets an artificial minimum wage rate, all labor costs go up. That is what causes inflation. When you fill your car up, or your heating oil tank, or have to buy electricity this winter... you will see what Biden's domestic energy policy is doing. Since you want everything "cited" for you... please cite the specific points of the 'enormous mess' that Trump created. Was it that the inflation rate was only 1.4% vs. Biden's 9.1%? Or perhaps that the Dow was much higher two years ago than after Biden's handling? Maybe you're talking about the price of oil or gas... Oil when Trump left was $30.00+/-, and gas was $2.30. Today, oil bounces around $90 to $100 a barrel and has been $120. Gas was over $5.00. I don't have to mention that today, Biden say that's what it was when he took office. Show me what mess Trump left that incompetent idiot? And yes... oil companies (and others) are making more profits than before. Perhaps they're not spending as much on new oil production which boosts their profits. In any case, that's what happens under capitalism... companies make money. I'm sorry that you don't like it.
