Description

In conjunction with an exhibit highlighting New Brunswick's importance as a transportation hub, Erik Burro, historian and photographer, will present a lecture about the role steamboats played in supporting the town industries and shipping business on the Raritan River. This program, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the library's Carl T. Valenti Community Room. (Please note: The library requires masks to be worn while in the community room.) Register here: https://forms.gle/fnbW2XLUcMux... A timeline exhibit, curated by Lanai McAuley of Rutgers History Department, will be on display in the Carl T. Valenti Community Room from 10/27 to 11/30. All, especially children, are welcome to visit the exhibit and take part in a trivia contest. Trivia forms will be available both in the Reference Room and Children's Room. Return the trivia form with at least 5 correct answers for a prize at either department. One trivia form per person. Contest starts on 11/1 and ends on 11/30/2022. Grant funding has been provided by the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners through a grant award from the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund.
