For the uninitiated, National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo for short) is a nationwide challenge to write the first draft of a novel over the course of November. Join us at Changing Hands Bookstore/First Draft Book Bar to make the most of the second week! Our venue is warm and historic: the perfect place to work on the next Great American Novel/Screenplay/Memoir. Settle in, meet other writers, talk about your project, and soak in the inspired atmosphere. We’ve also scheduled competitive word sprints, writerly trivia, and prizes throughout the evening!  As a nod to NaNoWriMo's Night of Writing Dangerously in San Francisco, 1920s or noir-themed attire is encouraged (but not required) for this event. Coffee, tea, and small bites will be available for purchase. Beer, wine, and cider are also available for purchase if you’d like to channel Hemingway for a bit! We are conveniently located in Central Phoenix off the light rail, part of The Newton complex.
